Teaching / Demo / Speaking Engagements

With a lifetime of fly angling and a 13-year, global, guide career, I’ve spent my fair share of time teaching various fly fishing, fly tying, and fly casting classes. While some instructors just seem to go though the motions, I actually strive to make sure that everyone in my classes and presentations takes a great deal from the experience. Whether it's an introductory fly casting class, knot tying, technique specific fly tying seminars, or a multi day fly tying and then on-the-water class, I work to make sure my students leave the experience having gained a great deal of knowledge. I’ve also hosted a great deal of fly tying demos and presentations at various fly shops, events, and conventions. Whether its in the back of a small fly shop or on the stage at the International Sportsman's Expo, I enjoy presenting my favorite tying and fishing experiences to groups.

I’ve gained the most recognition for my fly tying and I try to schedule a handful of tying presentations and classes across the country throughout the year. My classes are typically a 5 hour class for 8 intermediate level tiers. It’s a great way for me to share my knowledge and bring tiers together in fly shops.
